Resort Area

The Resort Area is the epicenter of the beach life and beach culture found in Virginia Beach. The Resort Area runs from 1st to 40th streets and is conveniently located to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and the boardwalk. Stay at one of our vacation rentals in the Resort or Boardwalk area, park the car and leave it (you probably won't need it), and be within walking distance of all there is to see and do here.

The nationally acclaimed Virginia Beach Boardwalk, recently voted as one of America's favorite boardwalks, offers a park-like atmosphere full of fun for the whole family. This three-mile-long, 28-foot-wide boardwalk is ideal for walking, rollerblading, and biking. It offers a separate bike path for added convenience.

This is the place to be for daily and nightly entertainment, live music on four oceanfront stages and free concerts in the park, coastal eateries and unique shops, fireworks exhibits, and so much more. Lifeguard guard stands are located at every street and patrol services are provided here seasonally. There is truly something for everyone at every age!

Croatan Beach

Located to the south of the Resort Area just over the Rudee Inlet Bridge, Croatan Beach offers a quieter, more secluded beach experience. Croatan Beach is three-quarters of a mile long and stretches from Rudee Inlet to Camp Pendleton. This upscale beach community consists primarily of single-family homes away from the hustle and bustle of the Resort Area but still conveniently located to restaurants, upscale shopping, museums, and more.

Croatan Beach is a prime location for families with close access to attractions such as the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, Owls Creek Salt Marsh (and free public boat ramp), and the Ocean Breeze Waterpark.

Croatan Beach is locally known as a favorite spot for surfers and body-boarders. There is also lifeguard patrol service on the beach seasonally. A great place for couples and families to enjoy a Virginia Beach vacation!

The Gold Coast of North End

As the name implies, this beautiful stretch of beach is found on the north end of the city from 41st Street to 89th Street. It is commonly referred to as the Gold Coast. Here you'll find classic-style Virginia Beach with traditional beach cottages, condos, and duplexes away from the commercialization but still close to all of the amenities. The Edgar Cayce Enlightenment & Research Center is a popular draw for those who seek information on spirituality, holistic health, intuition, dream interpretation, and many other ancient mysteries studied by the late Edgar Cayce. He is often referred to as the "father of holistic medicine' and is the most documented psychic of the 20th century.

First Landing State Park is Virginia's most visited state park. It's nestled in North Virginia Beach and runs along the Shore Drive corridor to the Chesapeake Bay. First Landing State Park also offers nature and history programs, a boat launch, a secluded beach called the "Narrows", and plenty of places to picnic as well as a variety of activities including boating, swimming, hiking, and biking. The park is set on 2,889 acres and offers 20 miles of walking and biking trails.

Enjoy the history of the area, the beautiful beaches in the Virginia Beach area with lifeguards patrolling seasonally, and time with the locals here in this classic part of Virginia Beach!

Chesapeake Bay Beaches

The Chesapeake Bay beaches are the northern-most beaches of the area found off of Shore Drive. The Chesapeake Bay offers calmer and gentler waters than the Atlantic Ocean. Its tranquil and serene setting boasts clear, shallow waters that extend quite a distance out making it the perfect place for the kids to play and have fun in the water. There is no lifeguard patrol service in this area. The locals love this beach and commonly refer to it as Chix Beach.

Take full advantage of the water since it's a great place for swimmers, boats, jet-skis, and kayaks or enjoy the scenic shoreline with some skimboarding or sandcastle building. Take a stroll around the marina, enjoy fine dining in area restaurants, and catch sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. Also, leave time for First Landing State Park and the Cape Henry Lighthouse. It's a great spot to spend your Virginia Beach vacation!
